APA filed three patents for Simon Chan and Prediction.io. Two were issued within months under the USPTO Track One program — with very broad claims.

The result
When Salesforce moved to acquire Prediction.io, the patents were put to the test: they passed Salesforce's due diligence in a matter of days and helped raise the company's valuation in the negotiation.
APA then filed an international PCT application on behalf of Salesforce — all claims were approved within four and a half months.
